step 2

Phone chat.

Schedule your time to chat with me.  I will ask you some important questions to see if I am a good fit for you.  This step will take about 20 minutes.


step 3

First session.

The first session is an intake session, a time when I take in a lot of information about you.  I recommend 80 minutes, as we have a lot to cover.  My goal is to understand your goals for therapy and be able to provide a plan by the end of this session.  I want you to dress comfortably, bring coffee if you want, and not be anxious about our first session.  While the work may be hard at times, I want my office to be a place where you feel the safety and security to be yourself.


step 4

Find your spot.

I expect my clients to be committed to therapy.  We may need to meet weekly in order to see the changes you desire.  We will work together to find the right day and time for your sessions and hold a regular time just for you.


Work between sessions.

Together we will work to improve your situation.  Some days you will leave my office and feel ecstatic, other days you may feel devastated.  Therapy may uncover some unpleasant feelings: we will sort them out, process them, and make a plan of action for when they come back.  Growth can be hard, but the results are so worth it.
